The Cobalt Artichoke – A Decorative Classic
Crafted from faience clay and glazed in deep cobalt (originally in burgundy), this decorative piece once adorned the gardens of Nieborów. Today, it fits seamlessly into refined, contemporary interiors. In ancient Greek and Roman culture, the artichoke symbolized fertility and was associated with Aphrodite.

About Majolika Nieborów
Founded in 1881 by Michał Piotr Radziwiłł, the Majolika Nieborów ceramic studio specialized in handcrafted pieces inspired by Italian Renaissance majolica. Gaining recognition for its hand-painted and artistically decorated work, the studio became an artistic hub in the 1920s and 1930s. Despite post-war challenges, it has continued to thrive — combining traditional craftsmanship with modern creativity, offering unique ceramics and hosting workshops and exhibitions.
